Scantabout Advent Trail - Further Information

This trail has a bit of a twist in that rather than all displays being on show from the start, we are looking for festive displays to be put up each day from 1st – 24th December and remain on show until 31st December.  We hope that this approach gives a bit of added excitement, particularly for the children on the school run, noticing new displays appear, however there will also be a week at the end where families can view all the displays in one go.

Displays can be in windows or gardens however if choosing the latter we would recommend using something waterproof given the duration of the trail.  The display could be as simple as a picture stuck in a window, however we would ask that pictures are a minimum of A3 size so they are clearly visible from a public footpath.  The trail itself will be advertised as an activity for daylight hours, so displays should be easily seen between 10am & 4pm, however feel free to add lights if you also wish them to be viewed in the dark. As with previous trails we will be asking participants to vote for their favourite and the top 3 displays will win a prize.

It is key to this trail that a display is “unveiled” every day, therefore we ask that your display is not on show before midday the day before and is put up by 10am on your allocated date.  Obviously you are free to decorate the rest of your house whenever you choose, however if you could keep the display specific part to your date we would be very grateful.  There is a section in the entry form to indicate any dates when you will not be able to put up a display and a preference for early, middle or later dates which we will try our best to match.

To enter your display simply return a completed entry form either via email to ssa.team@yahoo.com or place a paper copy in the black SSA mailbox by the year 6 classroom at Scantabout School by Friday 19th November.
